Weekends are gold (thoughts of a burnout ex-bum)

Four or five months ago, I was the idealistic person who just finished college and ready to take on corporate life. Today, I am the burn-out employee who wishes there are more hours left on his weekend.

You can't blame the job though. You can point a finger on the Metro traffic, which eats up at least two hours of "work" each day, and if you add up all the hours I spend every day which are NOT for my personal entertainment or relaxation, you could say I'm pretty much worked up AT LEAST 12 hours each day.

12 hours?

Full time job = 8 hours.
Traffic and getting there = 2 hours total back and forth
Doing homebased freelance writing/marketing projects = 2 hours per night.

This is the life I've always dreamed of (Not). *With some sort of dry sarcastic humor there so loosen up.

To some this might sound like I'm complaining but the truth is that I'm thankful that I realized just how valuable weekends are. Weekends are gold. Prety soon though, I'm hoping to switch things a bit and spend more time with myself and the things/people/activities I love.

After all, I adore peopl like Bill Gates and Warren Buffet and Robert Kiyosaki who barely even touched a timecard, or in modern times, time-in biometrics. These are folks who have time on their side.

My fellow citizens in the workforce, do we have time on our side?

I doubt it.

I doubt it severely. :)
